He previously stood as the TUV's candidate in the General Election in 2015. Mr Gaston comes from Glarryford and works as a fire, health and safety officer in Ballymena.

Jackson Minford worked in the Roads Service as a traffic engineer for 43 years. Aged 59, he is the son of Nat Minford, the MP for South Antrim from 1951 until Stormont was abolished in 1972. His grandfather Hugh was also a member of the Stormont Parliament from 1929 to 1950.

Declan O'Loan has been a councillor since 1993, and is a member of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. A former MLA for North Antrim, he lost his seat in the 2011 Northern Ireland Assembly election. During his time at Stormont, he was Chair of the Standards and Privileges Committee, and Deputy Chair of the Committee for Culture, Arts and Leisure. He also was the SDLP's finance spokesperson. He was Head of Mathematics at St Louis Grammar School, Ballymena.

The son of the late DUP leader Ian Paisley, Ian Paisley Jr has represented North Antrim since 1996 when he was elected to the Northern Ireland Forum for Political Dialogue. In 1998 he was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly. The former MLA served as Chairman of the Agriculture Committee and also as a Junior Minister in the Office of First Minister and Deputy First Minister from 2007 until 2008. After Dr Paisley stepped down as the MP for North Antrim, he contested the General Election of 2010 retaining the seat for the DUP. He was re-elected at the General Election in 2015.
