Tom Elliott was elected as MP for Fermanagh & South Tyrone in 2015 after an electoral pact saw the DUP stand aside to allow him a free run against Sinn Fein's Michelle Gildernew. He will attempt to retain his seat this year in a repeat of the 2015 election battle. He has previously represented the constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly from 2003 until 2015 and at local government level. Mr Elliott was the leader of the Ulster Unionist Party from 2010 to 2012. Prior to entering elected politics, he spent 18 years as a part-time member of the Ulster Defence Regiment and the Royal Irish Regiment.
Mary Garrity was first elected onto the Fermanagh and Omagh Council in 2014 to represent the West Tyrone DEA and is currently the Chairperson of the Council. She worked for many years as a Post Office Manager as well as for British Telecom. She lives in Trillick and is married with four sons. She completed a degree in Marketing in Dublin.
Michelle Gildernew is a former Stormont Agriculture Minister. She was elected to the Assembly in 1998 and stood down in 2012. She returned to Stormont in 2016 and was re-elected earlier this year in Fermanagh and South Tyrone. She was first elected to Westminster in 2001 but lost her seat to Tom Elliott of the UUP in 2015. From The Brantry, Co Tyrone, she has three children and is from a prominent republican family. Ms Gildernew was the Sinn Fein representative in London in the run-up to the Good Friday Agreement.
Tanya Jones is the founding chair of the Fermanagh and South Tyrone group of the Green Party.
