Claire Hanna has been an MLA for South Belfast since 2015. Her General Election campaign received a boost when Sinn Fein and the Green Party announced they would step aside to back her as a Remain candidate. Earlier this year, she resigned her party whip after the SDLP agreed to form an electoral alliance with Fianna Fail. She remains a member of the SDLP.
Michael Henderson is a UUP representative sitting on the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, representing the Castlereagh South district.
Emma Little-Pengelly was elected as the MP for South Belfast in 2017, having previously served as an MLA for the constituency. A former special advisor in the Office of the First Minister, she has also worked as a barrister.
Chris McHugh is one of seven Aontu candidates contesting the December 12 election. The pro-life republican party was formed in January. It is contesting the poll on an abstentionist ticket.
