Democratic Unionist Party
DUP stalwart Jeffrey Donaldson has been the MP for Lagan Valley since 1997. In 2003 he was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly and represented the constituency at Stormont until he stepped down in 2010. Whilst an MLA Mr Donaldson served as Junior Minister in the Office of First Minister and Deputy First Minister. He is the DUP Parliamentary Chief Whip.
Alliance Party
Sorcha Eastwood was elected onto Lisburn and Castlereagh Council in May's local government election, topping the poll in the Castlereagh South electoral area. A former Westminster candidate for Alliance in West Belfast, she famously got married on election day in 2017 and interrupted her wedding celebrations to cast her vote.
Social Democratic and Labour Party
Ally Haydock is a 22-year-old politics student. Earlier this year she was selected by the SDLP to stand for Lisburn and Castlereagh Council after a rule prevented sitting councillor Mairia Cahill from running.
Conservatives
Gary Hynds is one of four Conservative candidates in Northern Ireland. The spokesperson and Deputy Chair of the Northern Ireland Conservatives, he says he is campaigning to "Get Brexit Done".
UK Independence Party
Alan Love is UKIP's Northern Ireland Regional Committee Treasurer. He was previously selected by the party to stand for Lisburn and Castlereagh Council in May's local government election.
Sinn Fein
Gary McCleave was one of two Sinn Fein candidates elected onto the DUP-dominated Lisburn and Castlereagh Council in May's local government election, representing Killultagh.
