An MLA for North Down since 2016, Alan Chambers joined the UUP the previous year. He is a member of the Policing Board. Before being elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly, Mr Chambers had been an independent councillor on the local council since 1991. It is the first time the UUP run in North Down since 2010.

On the Ballot
Bangor resident Alex Easton entered the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2003 as North Down MLA. Mr Easton previously sat on North Down Borough Council for 13 years and used to work for the health service.
Alliance Party Deputy Leader Stephen Farry has been an MLA for North Down since 2007 and was Minister for Employment and Learning in the Northern Ireland Executive until the post was abolished in 2016. He is Alliance's Brexit spokesperson.
Matthew Robinson is one of four Conservative candidates in Northern Ireland campaigning to "Get Brexit Done".
