Green Party
Owner of an interior design business, Alexandra Braidner has spent over two decades working in retail. She is a volunteer in the arts and culture sector and is also an advocate for animal rights and the preservation of the habitats within the Strangford constituency.

Gareth Burns fundraised over £1,100 to resource his campaign. His mother passed away at the start of June in the early days of the campaign.

Garreth Falls is chairman of the new NI People party and a herbalist whose policies include an aim to "integrate naturopathic practices into healthcare".
Alliance Party
Having won her seat in 2019 to represent Castlereagh South, Michelle Guy has been part of Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council for the last five years. She retained that seat last year by topping the poll.
Conservatives
Barry Hetherington grew up in Co Fermanagh and worked in England and India before returning to Northern Ireland in 2018. He is an independent member of the Belfast and East Belfast Policing and Community Safety Partnership Boards.
Traditional Unionist Voice
Deputy leader of the TUV, Ron McDowell is a Belfast City councillor having been elected on the final count in the Court DEA last year. He is a member of the Orange Order and is an office holder in his church.
Social Democratic and Labour Party
A 21-year-old from Killyleagh, Will Polland stood in the Slieve Croob DEA in last year's election for Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, winning 285 first preference votes. In 2022, he helped to manage the Assembly election campaign of Conor Houston, who was unable to win a seat in Strangford.
Sinn Fein
Noel Sands stood in last year's council elections, failing to win a seat in the Ards Peninsula district of Ards and North Down Borough Council. Sands is best known as a hurler, having won three Ulster Senior Championships with Down, and eight Down titles with Portaferry.
Democratic Unionist Party
An MP since 2010, Jim Shannon was first elected to Ards Borough Council in 1985 and served as Mayor in 1991-1992. He was subsequently elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 1998 representing Strangford, eventually stepping down after he was elected to Westminster. Mr Shannon has won the last four General Elections in Strangford with margins ranging from 5,876 to 18,343.
Ulster Unionist Party
Richard Smart was first elected to Ards and North Down Borough Council in 2014 for the Newtownards area, and was subsequently re-elected in 2019 and 2023. He served as Mayor of North Down and Ards in 2018-2019, and has previous professional experience in the housing and finance sectors.
