He was elected to the Assembly in 2011 and has been a member of the Social Development, Employment and Learning and Procedures Committees. In 2013, his private member’s bill on special advisors was passed by the Assembly.

A Ballymena-based councillor on Mid and East Antrim Brough Council, Donna Anderson was formerly a member of the TUV and joined UKIP last September. She is a single mother who gave up work to care for her disabled teenage son.

Jennifer Breslin supports integrated and secular education and women's rights. She also wants to see the development of renewable technologies.

Connor Duncan

Born in Ballymena and now living in Rasharkin, Connor Duncan works in the banking sector. He is a group leader with the Scouts, a member of St John Ambulance and a founder of the Community Rescue Service in Portglenone. Mr Duncan also also been involved in running election campaigns for the SDLP in North Antrim.

Paul Frew was co-opted to the Assembly in 2010 to replace Ian Paisley after he was elected an MP and served as chair of the Agriculture Committee, a member of the Enterprise Committee and vice chair of the All Party Group on Construction. He was previously a councillor for the Braid area. A native of Broughshane, Mr Frew worked as an electrician and formerly served in the Royal Irish Regiment.

Timothy Gaston has been a Bannside councillor since 2014 when he topped the poll and has served as deputy mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. He also stood as the TUV's candidate in the general election last year. Mr Gaston comes from Glarryford and works as a fire, health and safety officer in Ballymena.

Journalist and author Kathryn Johnston is leading the Northern Ireland Labour Representation Committee, a group of 8 Labour Party members in NI who decided to run for election after the party refused to allow candidates to stand under the Labour banner. She is the widow of Laim Clarke, the late political editor of the Belfast Telegraph with whom she wrote a book on Martin McGuinness.

Phillip Logan grew up in Ahoghill and now lives in Ballymena. He previously worked for Wrightbus and now works in a retail business. He's married to Donna, a local primary school teacher, and was educated at Cullybackey High School.

Stephen McFarland, aged 26 from Ballymoney, has been active in the Alliance Party and Alliance Youth since 2010 and was a candidate in the 2014 council elections. He's replacing long-time Alliance member Jayne Dunlop as Assembly election candidate.

David McIlveen

A former estate agent, David McIlveen was brought up in east Belfast but now lives in Portglenone. He was first elected to the Assembly in 2011 and served as Assembly Private Secretary to the Finance Minister. He also sat on the OFMDFM and Enterprise Committees. Mr McIlveen is the son of Rev David McIlveen of the Free Presbyterian Church.

Daith McKay from Rasharkin has been an MLA for North Antrim since 2007. He was chair of the Assembly’s Finance Committee, leading Stormont's investigation of the NAMA land deal controversy. He was also a member of the Public Accounts Committee. Mr McKay was previously the party's spokesperson on the environment and education and now speaks for the party on the economy. He previously worked in banking.

James Simpson manages a family retail business in Ballymoney. He was a member of Ballymoney Borough Council for 22 years and is a former president of Ballymoney Chamber of Commerce. Mr Simpson has also been chair and acting chief executive of Ballymoney Enterprise Company and a member of the Northern Ireland Agriculture Wages Board.

Mervyn Storey

Finance Minister Mervyn Storey was elected as an MLA in 2003. He became chair of the Education Committee and was his party's spokesman on education. He was appointed Social Development Minister in 2014, replacing Arlene Foster at the finance department in January this year. The Free Presbyterian is from Armoy and previously worked as a factory production manager.

Robin Swann

Robin Swann was first elected to the Assembly in 2011 and is the UUP chief whip. He chaired the Employment and Learning Committee and also sat on the Assembly and Executive Review Committee and the Agriculture Committee. Mr Swann previously served as President and County Antrim chair of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster.

Andrew Wright

Farmer Andrew Wright stood previously for the UUP at the last council elections. He farms between Rasharkin and Cullybackey and is a member of the Cullybackey Development Association.
