Roger Lomas is a retird businessman who has worked in public services, IT and retail sectors. He is a governor of Integrated College Dungannon. A stalker and angler who describes himself as a "passionate defender" of hunting, there was controversy when he was pictured on Facebook with a dead eland which he shot in Africa. Mr Lomas is campaigning for investment in infrastructure and education.

Allan Bresland lives in Sion Mills and is a councillor on Derry City and Strabane District Council. He was previously a member of the Assembly from 2007 to 2011. A retired lorry driver with the Water Service, he has served on many public bodies including Western Group Environmental Health Committee and the District Policing Partnership. Mr Bresland is also a member of the Orange Order and a founder-member of North Tyrone Credit Union.

Thomas Buchanan was a member of Omagh District Council for 21 years and was elected to the Assembly in 2003. He was deputy chair of the Employment and Learning Committee and a member of the Health Committee. Before entering full-time politics, Mr Buchanan was a building contractor.

Environmental activist Ciaran McClean has been at the forefront of opposition to gold mining in the Sperrins and is also involved in the Alternative A5 Alliance which has opposed the route of the A5 dual carriageway. The veteran campaigner has contested previous elections as a socialist candidate. Originally from Beragh, he lives in Brackey and is the son of civil rights activist Paddy Joe McClean.

Dr Josephine Deehan, a GP in Omagh, recently resigned from the SDLP after an internal row and launched her campaign as an independent. She's a councillor on Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and a member of the local Police and Community Safety Partnership.

Corey French celebrates his 22nd birthday on election day. He works as a barman in Strabane and is a former chair of Strabane Youth Council. He's opposed to gold mining in the Sperrins and supports same-sex marriage.

A councillor on Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Sorcha McAnespy resigned from Sinn Fein following an internal dispute. An engineer and mother of three, she was first elected to the former Omagh District Council in 2011 and served as vice-chair.

Devout Christian and pro-life campaigner Susan-Anne White, from Trillick, wants to make homosexuality and adultery illegal, and is strongly opposed to feminism and rock music. She stood in the council elections in 2014 and the Westminister election last year.

Daniel McCrossan from Victoria Bridge near Strabane was co-opted to the Assembly in January to replace Joe Byrne for whom he previously worked as a constituency assistant. He sat on the Regional Development Committee. Mr McCrossan studied law at Liverpool John Moores University and is now completing a PhD.

Michaela Boyle was elected to the Assembly in 2011 and was Chair of the Public Accounts Committee. The former community and voluntary worker has been a member of Sinn Fein since 1997 and was chair of Strabane District Council. Ms Boyle is the party spokesperson on disability and is a member of her local GAA club, Strabane Sigersons.

Declan McAleer was co-opted to the Assembly in 2012 to replace Pat Doherty MP and sat on the Agriculture, Regional Development and Standards Committees. He's a former chair of Omagh District Council. Earlier, Mr McAleer was a lecturer in psychology and taught at Omagh College and Dean Maguire College.

Grace McDermott works for Sinn Fein as an assistant to the party's MP, MLAs and councillors. She lives in Strabane and has campaigned for the closure of Castlederg police station and a neighbourhood watch scheme for Dromore. Ms McDermott has a degree in international studies and politics from Queen's.

An MLA since 1998, Barry McElduff was appointed Assembly Private Secretary to the Culture Minister and sits on the Environment and Procedures Committees. He's a member of Sinn Fein's Ard Comhairle and a former chair of Omagh District Council. Mr McElduff played gaelic football at senior level for Carrickmore and at minor level for Tyrone and has a keen interest in the Irish language. He wrote a book entitled ‘Keep ‘Er Lit' about his experiences of republicanism, GAA and community activism.

Ross Hussey has been an MLA since 2011, sitting on the Education and Public Accounts Committees. He is also a member of the Policing Board and spenjt six years on Omagh District Council. Mr Hussey was a part-time member of the RUC Reserve for 26 years and has served as chair of the RUC GC Association Part Time Officers Welfare Group. Before entering politics, he worked for an insurance company.
